Cassidy: Terrible Lie (3 of 4)
When someone assumes that your friend is a raging kaiju, you roll with it.
Start this ol’ story from the beginning HERE.
Well well well. So it looks like we’ve got ourselves a peace treaty. All the “dry people” have to do is never fish, never reveal the floots’ existence, and pretend that Cassidy is is, you know, a giant, evil monster rather than a big ol’ sweetie.
Not a bad deal.
Hmmm… I think there needs to be a transition panel or page before the treaty. Sometimes I think I kind of assume time passing when I write/draw. Even a little “AND SO…” would do the trick. What do you reckon?
The flashback ends here, and this story concludes next week. And THEN I’m gonna take a week off (or two?) for the holidays.
I’m not! Anyway, here are some recent pots.
The glaze on the left is called “Peggy Blue”, but I call it “Margaret Blue”, because she’s SO classy. Not huge on shiny glazes, but this one does some really nice stuff.
I centered and threw the spittoon-y one on the left blindfolded. I know. Side note, not a fan of white/gray clay, I’m finding. I like it red/brown and groggy as heck. Gimme particles, gimme pinholes, gimme baked freakin’ earth. See how different the same two glazes look on these two different types of clay? See how unglazed red clay (the face) gets all toasty? See how correct my opinion is?
The lil’ bowl on the right was centered on the wheel blindfolded then blorped out with my eyeballs uncovered and aimed at it. I love how the glaze turned out on this one. The white is gritty and not too bright. The weathered bronze (my very favorite) did its splitting into olive-y and teal-y thing REALLY nicely.
Okay bye!
I’m intrigued by the slotted triangle
Since it's mostly medium compostions, maybe you could do one longer/wider composition before the treaty, where you show the whole boat, the people on it, and the little water doods surrounding the ship? Just an idea! Could give a sense of time passing or a big momentous occasion.
