OH MY STARS. I finally finished this Cassidy: Biggest Monster, Smallest Planet story that does not include Cassidy, monsters of any kind, or an indication of the size of the planet whereinuponeth the story takes place. Doing one page per “week” kinda made the thing drag. Cool experience, but I thiiink I need to switch it up now. Play with format, do some strips & gags, etc. And, so help me, if I don’t include CASSIDY in the next installment or two, what are we even doing here?
Hey, pssst. I’m gonna be vulnerable for a second. I’m enjoying writing and sharing the stuff AFTER the comics more than the comics themselves. So that’s something for me to think about.
Oh yeah. Yes. Here are the last TWO pages of this story. And if you’re just joining us, this particular story begins here.
There. Panic at the office, a live chart gets bumped, it gets put back up sideways, and aaaaaahhhhhhh I don’t gotta rehash. It’s hashed. We’re hashed.
SO. Darling. I gotta tell you. My friend Kim had a birthday party a few days ago. She rented the carousel at Prospect Park, and there was a clownycircusy theme going. I’m obviously still torn to fricking shreds about Daisy, so I decided that the best way to be a functioning person at said social event would be to lean in and wrangle the saddest, bleakest clown outfit I could put together. A little light dark clowning.
How’d it go? Well, in short, I was 45 minutes late to the party, and I dropped the cake. I tripped getting out of the car while holding the thing, and all of the flowers got wrecked and blorped out Kim’s name in the icing. Anyway, I passed out little fuzzballs I called “gloomies” and sad face pins out of a black bodega bag to other party-goers, and I rode the carousel in silence. And it was kinda… amazing?

Anyway, I signed up for a clowning class that starts on Sunday. Apparently there’s a class show at the end? Welp!
I wish to see an indie film about the sad clown. And it’s cool you’re aware that you enjoy writing about the comics more than making them!
I’m a clown at heart…have been for a long time…hang in there.
