Update: I will not be starring in Oh, Mary!
My iPad has 4% battery and I still have to think of a subtitle.
Start this Cassidy: Biggest Monster, Smallest Planet comic story here.
So the thing about doing one page per week instead of four or five is HOOOLY HECK ARE THEY EVER GETTING OFF THE DANG BEACH? Yes. This is it. Last beach page. There are three pages left in this story, and there are two more locations. That’s right, baby, this story is about to COOK.
I see two things on this page that I need to fix, but I baked a loaf of bread earlier, and I’ve really got to get back to it. You understand.
But first, I’ve got two other things to share. First, my upcoming leading role in the hottest show on Broadway, Oh, Mary!
A TON of people I know have been making trips to New York to see this INCREDIBLE play. Have I seen it? Oh, actually, I saw it before it was on Broadway. Yeah, I guess I’m sort of tastemaker? No big deal.
I wish I had seen it again with Betty Gilpin, and WOW I’d love to see it with Tituss Burgess. SO ANYWAY, last week I faked a poster and put it on m’socials saying I was taking over the role. And I guess a couple of people who hadn’t heard of the play didn’t know I was just foolin’ around. I reckon I’m grateful to have a community that believes I have it in me to, like, do things?
But I have declined the role.
I’m just too busy making vaguely functional stuff out of clay. Here’s a ceramic microgreens bed. It’s in two parts. The bed part pulls out of the reservoir, and paper towels wick water up from below. Just a few sheets are enough to hold the roots and keep it all together. The top right photo was from a couple hours ago. These red radish microgreens will be ready to harvest in a couple more days.
I hope that tomorrow you go to your favorite weekend-only onigiri place and the chef’s special is something you haven’t tried before and you decide to go for it and it’s one of the most delightful early Spring snacks you’ve ever had in your entire life. OKAYBYE.
